‘LAKE OF THE MOON’ (CHANDRATAAL) JEEP SAFARI / TREK.

This six day jeep safari cum trekking program takes you from Manali to the picturesque, almost ethereally beautiful Chandrataal – ‘The moon lake.’ Chandrataal (4270 m), is a high altitude lake located in the Lahaul valley of Himachal Pradesh and is so breathtaking in its beauty that it seems to be a like a jewel set in the crown of the Himalaya. Ensconced between lofty mountain ranges whose snow-mantled peaks find a near perfect reflection in its emerald waters, Chandratal is a magical place and one feels like spending an eternity here.

The grassy shores of this lake are carpeted with a wide array of delightful alpine flowers in summer and are regularly visited by a multitude of itinerant birds. It is not uncommon to see an occasional nomadic ‘Gaddi’ sheepherder on the meadows surrounding the lake, tending to his peacefully grazing flock and playing a haunting pahari tune on his flute. There are some fantastic views of the CB range of the Himalaya, including that of the splendid CB-13 and CB-14 peaks, from the lake. One is also mesmerized by the amazingly beautiful sweep of the Samundra Tapu glacier, which is visible from here.

TOUR COSTS:

* Cost per person / per day(Ex. Manali) :

Rs. 3,000 /= (INR), Rupees Three Thousand. (For a
group with minimum 10 participants.)

* Cost per person for the entire program (6 Days, ex.
Manali) :

Rs 18,000 / =(INR) Rupees Eighteen Thousand, all
inclusive.(For a group minimum 10 participants.)

NOTE: –

For a group with 8 participants, the minimum per person / per day cost will be Rs. 3,500 /= (INR) and the overall cost per person for the entire 6 day program, will be Rs. 21,000 /= (INR)

COST INCLUSIONS:

Accommodation in Manali, comfortable jeeps and highly experienced drivers for the safari, trek leader /guide, well versed with local culture and environment etc., cook, helper/s, support transport, camping on twin share with all meals, sleeping bags and heavy foam pad mattresses, toilet tent and mess tent. Camping permissions and charges, environmental levy, full medical kit… etc.

COST EXCLUDES:

Travel from Delhi to Manali and back to Delhi, expenses of a personal nature like dining in a restaurant, beverages, drinks etc., tipping of drivers and camp staff, accidental or medical insurance, evacuation costs, any other services not specified above, costs due to factors beyond our control such as road blockage due to landslides, flashfloods… etc.

MODE OF PAYMENT:

Payment is 100% advance along with program confirmation. If you are sending a DD, it should be in favor of “Rahul Ogra” payable at Manali or "Mystic Himalayan Trails" payable at Manali. Online / electronic Bank Transfers are also acceptable.
